MAKING SENSE
Making Sense was a project in the northern Tasmanian community of Scottsdale. It was an intergenerational digital storytelling project, facilitated by Human Ventures Inc and Anita Bačić.
The project engaged Dorset’s youth in the creative use of technology in narrative. Designing projects as intergenerational enabled broadest community engagement and local capacity building: participants engaged in both the past (the history and stories) and the future (the creative use of technology).
The value of narrative projects, social media and devices to older citizens is already well understood by aged care professionals in terms of the stimulus and sense of involvement and empowerment which it imparts to the elderly.
